In Pakistan, dance is a strongly discouraged art form, and as so has no offical patronage. The organization of dance shows & festivals is therefore very hard.
In spite of this, the workshop was able to organize a national dance festival, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy. This venture was not geared to make a profit and so no tickets were sold. Instead passes were issued to prevent any unpleasant incidents from taking place.
In the future (November 1997) the workshop is planning to call international & national dance artists to participate in the annual international theatre festival.
