This festival was the largest and most recent of the three international puppet festivals held in Pakistan. It lasted a total of 10 days during which time over 20 puppet shows were held every day.
Bringing together 40 groups from 21 countries, the festival lived up to its premise of promoting international solidarity through puppetry. It also again gave the people of Lahore, Pakistan, to view the many diverse forms of puppetry that exist in the world today.
Although the festival was the largest of its kind in Pakistan and enhanced the image of Pakistan in the rest of the world, the entire project was privately funded without any explicit help from the government agencies.
