The
Executive Committee continues to work in redesigning our national aims,
its goals, objectives and the newsletter which already is financed by Rafi
Peer Theatre Workshop for its first edition.
The Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop will voluntarily provide all its initial
help for the next couple of years to UNIMA Pakistan,
for stationery, postage, telephone calls and secretarial facilities.
The provisional membership fee for each year is Rs. 500/-.
Some of the important National aims are listed below
- Preservation of folk puppets and the providence of work for the folk
artists.
- Creating a Newsletter of UNIMA Pakistan (The newsletter has already
been launched with its first publication dedicated to the puppet
festival).
- To develop more documents on various aspects of puppets of Pakistan.
- To create a documentary film on the puppets of Pakistan. Our first
film will be launched soon which is dedicated to the puppet festival.
- Creating possibility for research work on puppets and teaching for
students.
- Continue to help development of professional training for puppeteers
for all Pakistan.
- Bring better awareness of puppetry amongst our audience.
- Help to find financial sources to increase the numbers of National
Puppet Festivals.
- Develop programs to fight major issues like environment, population,
terrorism, and ineducation.
- Adopt themes which brings our cultural awareness in the international
audience and create an understanding through the medium of puppets.
- Adopt the rules of UNIMA International to develop an organized structure
and make a mark as one of the best centres of the world.
- Develop opportunities for foreign groups to visit Pakistan for development
work on puppets in Pakistan and research and publication.
- Work towards making Lahore as one of the great puppetry centres of
the world.

meet and discuss more in depth.
